Terms of use

Draft for legal review. This wording is a working draft and has not yet been checked by our lawyer. It may change before launch.

1. Who we are

Azantix is an events and ticketing platform for South Africa. These terms apply when you use the Azantix website, the Azantix app, or the Azantix Gate scanner app.

By creating an account or buying a ticket you agree to these terms and to our privacy notice.

2. Your account

You sign in with your South African mobile number. Keep your phone, your passcode and any sign-in code to yourself. You are responsible for what happens on your account.

Give us your real name. Organisers and gate staff use it to check tickets. You must be 18 or older to buy tickets, or have a parent or guardian's permission. Some events carry their own age limit.

Roles such as organiser, crew, vendor, affiliate, ambassador, scanner or supervisor are granted only by an Azantix administrator, and can be removed.

3. Tickets

A ticket is a licence from the organiser to attend one event. It is not property. The organiser, not Azantix, runs the event and decides entry, age limits and venue rules.

Each ticket has a QR code that can be scanned once. Do not copy, sell outside Azantix, or share a ticket's code. A ticket scanned at another gate first will be refused, and repeated misuse can close your account.

Resale and transfers are allowed only through Azantix, within any price cap the organiser sets.

4. Prices, payment and fees

Prices are in rand and include VAT where it applies. The booking fee is shown before you pay. Payments are processed by licensed payment providers. Azantix does not store your card details.

An order is confirmed only when the payment provider confirms payment.

5. Refunds and cancelled events

Each event shows the organiser's refund policy. If an event is cancelled, you are refunded the ticket price through the original payment method, in line with the Consumer Protection Act.

If an event is postponed, your ticket stays valid for the new date, or you may ask for a refund within the period the organiser announces.

6. Organisers, crew and vendors

Organisers must describe events truthfully, hold the permits, licences and music rights their events need, and honour the tickets they sell.

Organiser payouts are made to a verified South African bank account after the event, less agreed fees and any refunds or chargebacks.

Crew and vendors contract with the organiser who hires them. Azantix provides the platform but is not their employer.

7. Photos and content

Photos you upload, such as event banners, gallery photos and portfolios, must be yours or used with permission. Do not upload anything unlawful, hateful, or that shows someone in a way they have not agreed to.

You keep ownership of your photos. You give Azantix a licence to show them on the platform and in event promotion. Organisers and administrators can remove photos.

8. Messages

We send SMS codes to sign you in. WhatsApp messages are sent only if you opt in, and you can opt out at any time from your profile.

9. Fair use

Do not try to get around security, scrape the platform, buy tickets with bots, or use someone else's account. We may suspend accounts that do.

10. Liability

Azantix is not responsible for how an event is run, for the venue, or for loss or injury at an event, except where the law says we cannot exclude that responsibility.

Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act.

11. Closing your account

You can ask us to delete your account and personal information at any time from your profile, or on the delete-my-data page. We keep financial records for as long as tax law requires, without your name on them. See the privacy notice for details.

12. Changes and law

We may update these terms, and we will tell you about important changes in the app. South African law applies.
